Makes about 14 cups of mix or enough for 5 single recipes of brownies.
- In a large bowl, thoroughly stir together first 5 ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Store in covered container up to 6 weeks at room temperature. For longer storage, place in freezer.
- Directions For Using Brownie Mix
- Beat 2 eggs with 1 teaspoon vanilla. Add 2 3/4 cups brownie mix. Stir until nearly smooth. Can add 1/2 cup chopped nuts, chocolate or white chips or butterscotch pieces. Spread in a greased 8 x 8 baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool cut into squares.
