Cheddar Chowder

Makes 4-6 servings.



  1. Boil in the water or chicken broth all the vegetables until tender. While vegetables are cooking, make white sauce.
  2. To make white sauce: put 2 cups milk in saucepan and add 1/4 cup butter. When butter is melted, gradually add the 1/4 cup flour until it becomes thick. Add 2 cups cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Stir the cheese sauce into vegetables.
  3. Add ham and blend well. If it becomes too thick, add more milk until soup is creamy. Heat and serve.
