Coconut-Pecan Filling and Frosting

Icing is used on German Chocolate Cake. Homemade is a lot better than the store bought tub of icing.
Makes about 4 1/2 cups.

Directions

  1. Mix milk, sugar margarine, egg yolks and vanilla in large saucepan.
  2. Cook and stir on medium heat about 12 minutes or until thickened and golden brown. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in coconut and pecans. Cool to room temperature and of spreading consistency.
