Recipe was given to a Mrs. Williams and was typed on an index card.
- Sift dry ingredients together, stir in milk and shortening, mix until smooth.
- Add nuts, spread in 9 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle with 1 cup brown sugar and 4 tablespoons cocoa, mixed together.
- Pour 1 1/2 cups hot water over entire batter. Do not stir.
- Bake 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
- Invert squares on plates, dip sauce from pan over each.
