A popular dish that originated from Columbus, Ohio. Many schools served this for lunch in the 50's, 60's and 70's.

- Melt margarine in a large skillet. Add onions and garlic; cook until soft. Add ground beef. Cook until well browned.
- Stir in tomato paste, vinegar, water, mushrooms with liquid, celery, green pepper and cheese. Simmer 15 minutes to make a rich sauce.
- While sauce is cooking, cook the noodles until just tender in boiling water. Drain noodles and mix with sauce.
- Cover and cook slowly for 1 hour on top of stove or in an oven at 350 degrees.
