- Melt butter, blend in cornstarch, sugar, and salt. Gradually add milk and beaten egg yolks.
- Heat to boiling and cook 2 minutes stirring constantly.
- Line a bowl with one layer vanilla wafers, then one layer sliced bananas, then add filling.
- Continue until desired number of vanilla wafers, the bananas and custard are used, finishing with the custard.
