- In a bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and nutmeg. Add peaches; stir to coat. Pour into greased 11 x 7 baking pan.
- For topping, combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt. Cut in the 1/3 cup butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in egg. Spoon over peaches.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until filling is bubbly and topping is golden.
