Directions

  1. Combine sugars and evaporated milk. Stir well.
  2. Bring to boiling point, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Cook to soft ball stage (234 degrees).
  3. Remove from heat. Add butter.
  4. Cool until lukewarm then beat until creamy. (If mixture curdles, it will smooth after beating.)
  5. Add vanilla, and walnuts.
  6. Pour into buttered pan. When cold cut into squares.
