Wilted Lettuce

Wilted Lettuce

A little lemon or vinegar may be added.
This same method of preparation may be used with tender inside leaves of spinach and young dandelion greens.



  1. Wash and drain lettuce thoroughly.
  2. Fry diced salt pork or strips of bacon until crisp.
  3. Pour the fat and pieces of bacon over lettuce.
  4. Serve at once.
